Hola / Hello / Ciao ! My name is Joy and I am the Franchise owner of the Spanish and Italian languages in Coventry, Kenilworth and surrounding areas.. Originally, I attended BilinguaSing Spanish classes when my daughter was a baby. It was the one class that I wanted to do when on maternity leave and I kept hold of the flyer that I'd picked up whilst pregnant until it was the right time to join. I wanted to expose my daughter to a different language and thought a BilinguaSing class was a fabulous way to do that. The added benefit was that the classes enabled me to revisit the Spanish that I'd studied at school and also challenge my brain which felt very full of "baby related tasks" at the time. read more

I recall my daughter singing "wind the bobbin up" whilst playing at home when she was less than 12 months old. Except she was singing the Spanish words that she'd learned from our BilinguaSing class! It's amazing how much young children can learn at such a young age. I saw that in her then and, as a franchisee, I now see that in the children that attend my classes with their grown ups or in nursery settings.

It's really easy to sing along to the words in class whether you know Spanish/Italian or not as the lyrics are also sung in English and are displayed so that the grown ups can read them. Lots of songs are easily recognisable too, such as horsey horsey, twinkle and humpty dumpty and are often accompanied by engaging props such as lights, puppets, instruments and bubbles.

As well as classes for 0-4s, BilinguaSing classes are also run for children from 5 -11 years old, usually in a school setting. School clubs are a great fun way to introduce pupils to another language through our catchy songs but also through games and activities during the class.

Prior to BilinguaSing, my background was working in HR which I had been doing ever since I finished my Psychology degree at Uni. Running BilinguaSing classes has changed my focus from training adults to now dealing with little people. It is very rewarding to see the children progress as the weeks go by and also so lovely to get feedback from nursery staff and parents alike about the enjoyment that the children get from attending classes as well as hearing that they have been singing the songs at home, just like my daughter did.

I'm sure many can relate to being quite daunted by languages, and so having a fun, interactive and exploratory way of introducing languages to children I think is so important, this is why I have joined the BilinguaSing team!

I have seen this first hand from attending classes with my 2 year old daughter and baby twins, these classes are exciting, engaging and a great introduction to a language that is so accessible for both the adults and children, so much so my eldest has started to sing the songs and even asks for "helado" for her dessert at tea time!
